About Us
We have been working in the area of violence against women and girls for the past 26 years (registered in 1995) with main office at Hyderabad.
Vision
Promoting violence free lives for women in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Mission
Our focus is on gender equality, and women & children accessing their rights by advocating for a life of dignity and justice.
Objectives Of Bhumika Women's Collective
- To support women by providing counselling in health, legal, psychological and social issues.
- To enable women to take informed decisions to lead a life with dignity.
- To empower adolescents to emerge as sensitized second generation and evolve as peer leaders.
- To sensitise and educate young generation to evolve as gender sensitive volunteers to address issues of violence against women and children.
- To create a common forum for network of academicians, activists, practitioners and students from different fields by organizing discussions, seminars and workshops.
- To build a centre for resource facility in pursuance of the above objectives.
- To also undertake publication of occasional research papers and booklets.
Awards
LAADLI media award for “Gender sensitivity in media” in both the National and Southern region by UNFPA in 2008.
“Outstanding Contribution to Community (Mahila Utsav-2014)” by Lions Club International in 2014.
Appreciation certificates for providing outstanding services in counselling the offenders caught by SHE teams for harassment in public places. The award was issued by the Commissioners of Police of Cyberabad and Rachakonda in Telangana state through the years 2016 to 2021.
“Dignity March Award” (to end sexual violence against women and children) by Rashtriya Garima Abhiyan, New Delhi in the year 2019.
“GOOD SAMARITAN AWARD” – COVID-19 by Rachakonda Police Commissioner for supporting in the time of Covid-19 pandemic crisis in 2020. (30.05.2020).
“Sanghamitra” reward and certificate by Rachakonda Security Council, Rachakonda Police Commissionerate on 6th February 2021. The reward was received from Ms.Kavitha Kalvakuntla.
“Selfless Services to the Society” award was honoured by State Bank of India, Amaravati circle, Andhra Pradesh on the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8th March 2021.
